Infrastructure

Infrastructure is the backbone of our country, states, provinces, and cities. Whether it’s utilities, airports, bridges, highways, railways, or mines we build it. We’ve tackled tough projects in harsh weather and unrelenting terrains, always delivering safely and successfully.

You’ll see examples of our work in varying conditions, including adverse climates and unfavorable terrain.

Transportation

From airport runways to rail and highways, including the Trans-Canada Highway, we can handle it all with precision. Think Boeing 777 runways and major railways buzzing with traffic—we’ve nailed those too.

Mining

Our roots lie in mining, and we’re all about solutions. From developing new mines to restoring old ones, we move mountains without compromising on safety or the environment.

With years of valuable experience in this area, we can compete with any leading mining contractor.

Energy

We can safely provide the delivery of a wide range of industrial projects. We specialize in HDPE Piping in addition we can provide services such as site preparation, structures, pipelines for the Industrial, Oil and Gas, LNG or Renewables markets.

Environmental

We have experience in providing a wide range of services for site remediation. All of our projects are delivered in strict accordance with the environmental legislation and guidelines set forth by the presiding governing bodies

Recent Projects

  • Illecillewaet Curve Safety Improvements

    This section of the TCH is a congested area with known major safety issues related to passing. In particular, the westbound/southbound traffic demonstrates high-risk passing behavior at the Illecillewaet curve, which has resulted in multiple incidents.

  • Idlewild Lake Dam Improvements

    n 2016 MacKay was awarded the Idlewild Lake Dam Upgrades project. This work was performed in an active and well-used park, requiring a great deal of communication and interaction with the public.

  • Red Deer Siding

    MacKay Contracting was selected by CP Rail to construct the Red Deer Siding as part of the Red Deer Terminal Capacity Expansion.
