The North East Stoney Trail (NEST) portion of the Calgary AB Ring Road was procured as a Public Private Partnership. Alberta chose Bilfinger Berger BOT to develop the project. They chose Stoney Trail Constructors, a joint venture led by Flatiron Constructors based in Colorado.
Flatiron Constructors Canada Limited selected MacKay Contracting to provide roadway and drainage construction on NEST from 16th Ave. NE to 17th Ave. SE. The project involved grading 3.25 km of multi lane roadway, stormwater retention ponds, ditching and culverts.
