Project Description

MacKay was selected for the South Tailings Pond to Turnbull South Pit (STP-TBS) Tailings pipeline project.

Project Highlights

  • 180,000m3 earthworks, 2000m3 rip-rap
  • 5km HDPE tailings pipeline, 500mm-400mm diameter DR7.3-DR17
  • Containment berms along entire pipeline route
  • 0.75 150mm DR17 gland water line
  • Above ground installation and testing
  • Work performed in extreme conditions in an extremely busy mine
  • 24 steel pipe crossings under active haul roads and active rail line
