Project Description

The Town of Fort Macleod selected MacKay Contractng to construct Water and Sewer Mains to the new $300M Alberta Police and Peace Officer Training Centre. The centre will be built on 320 acres of land in the southeast corner of Fort Macleod. It is expected to include classrooms, a library, a cafeteria, accommodations, indoor and outdoor shootng ranges, a driving course and recreational areas.
The project consisted of 3,480 lineal meters of 450mm diameter water main and 3,440 lineal meters of 450mm diameter sanitary sewer main. There was 6 augured crossings facilitate the crossing of the CP Rail mainline, Highway 3 Eastbound and Westbound Lanes. One of the main challenges that was overcome to complete this project was the lack of grade allowed for the sanitary sewer.
Local road restoration was also a porton of the project.
